How to Price Your Graphic Design Services
Pricing is the hardest part of freelancing. Charge too much, and you lose the client. Charge too little, and you burn out. Here is how to navigate pricing as a professional designer.
Hourly vs. Value-Based Pricing
Hourly pricing penalizes you for being fast and efficient. Value-based pricing charges based on the value the design brings to the client. If a logo helps a company secure $1M in funding, that logo is worth far more than $500.
The Three-Tier Proposal
Never give a client just one price. Offer three packages (e.g., Basic, Standard, Premium). This shifts the client's psychology from "Should I hire them?" to "Which package should I choose?"
Conclusion
Stop competing on price. Compete on value, reliability, and expertise. High-quality clients want results, not a bargain.
