How to Deal with 'Make the Logo Bigger' Clients

Every designer has heard it: 'I love it, but can you make the logo bigger?' It is the bane of our existence. But instead of getting frustrated, here is how you manage this feedback professionally.

Understand the Underlying Fear

When a client says 'make the logo bigger,' they aren't actually asking for a larger JPG. What they are really saying is: 'I am afraid people won't know this is my brand.' They are operating from a place of anxiety.

The Apple Argument

Remind them that brand recognition comes from consistency, colors, and typography, not just the logo. Show them an Apple or Nike ad. The logo is usually tiny in the corner. The brand identity does the heavy lifting.

Conclusion

Sometimes, you just have to increase it by 10% to make them happy. But always explain the concept of 'Negative Space' and why breathing room actually draws the eye to the logo more effectively.
