The Psychology of the Color Blue in Tech
Look at your phone. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Safari, Venmo, PayPal, Zoom. Why is almost every major tech company branded in blue?
The Trust Factor
Tech companies, especially those dealing with your data or your money, have a massive hurdle: trust. Blue is universally associated with stability, reliability, and calm. It is a non-threatening color.
Accessibility
Blue is also the most universally visible color for people with color blindness. Mark Zuckerberg is red-green colorblind, which is a major reason Facebook was initially designed in blue.
Conclusion
If your startup requires people to trust you with their sensitive information, blue is the safest bet. If you want to disrupt and be aggressive, look at reds and purples.
