How to Create a Brand Style Guide in 5 Steps
A logo is not a brand. A brand is a system. If you want your client to actually use the logo correctly, you must deliver a comprehensive Brand Style Guide.
1. The Logo Rules
Define the primary logo, secondary marks, and favicons. Most importantly, define clear space (the minimum empty space required around the logo) and minimum size limits so it never becomes unreadable.
2. Color Palette & Typography
Provide exact HEX, RGB, CMYK, and Pantone values. Provide the exact fonts for headings, body copy, and UI elements. Never leave the client guessing which shade of red they should use on a flyer.
Conclusion
A Style Guide protects your design from being ruined by a rogue intern with a copy of MS Word. It ensures consistency across every touchpoint.
